Description
At the turn of the century, two Texas cowboys wait silently to cross the US border to steal Mexican cattle. Their action that night will unknowingly evolve toward a national revolution, an era of Prohibition lawlessness, and two world wars. Sweetwater is the hometown of the fictional Royston family of West Texas in the 1910–1950 era. It has the perspective of an early-twentieth-century western setting plus a mystery subset overlaid with international intrigue. Many historical characters of the era contribute to the story, including a European film star. The hero, Richard Royston, always returns to Sweetwater for respite after world travels in Pullman cars, zeppelin airships, flying boats, and ocean liners. World leaders, war heroes, revolutionaries, German spies, and notorious Texas criminals also participate in the adventure throughout the hero’s career as a student, Mexican revolutionary, US airman, Texas Ranger, and military intelligence officer.
