A Home for Finn: The Tail of an Alaska Rescue Dog

I love animals. I saw my first Irish setter when I was a teenager growing up in Denver, Colorado. It was an amazingly beautiful creature, copper-colored fur that reflected the light of the sun, long legged and fast, fur flying like flags. A few years later, after I had moved to Anchorage, Alaska, I was given my best Christmas present ever—an Irish setter puppy. I named him Zachariah. Zach lived to be seven, and then succumbed to cancer. Many years later, when I had the opportunity to rescue an Irish setter who needed a home, I jumped at the chance. That is how this story of me and Finn came to be. Finn lived with me for three years. He has a new home now, but the time Finn spent with me will be in my heart forever.
