Advances in Materials Science Research

Materials science encompasses four classes of materials, the study of each of which may be considered a separate field: metals, ceramics, polymers and composites. This volume gathers important research from around the globe in this dynamic field including research on the effective thermal conductivity of fluid-saturated sandstones; the structural evolution and mechanical properties of nanocrystalline FeAl intermetallics; silicon based drug delivery systems; diradical based organic molecular magnetic materials; the mechanochemical effect of hematite; and, transparent conducting oxides for thin film solar cells and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) used in microfluidic devices.
