The Up Country Twit

The Up Country Twit is a personal story of not wanting to believe or accept that my husband was a manic depressive, alcoholic and having to leave the safety and security of a life I had always known on the Surrey Hampshire borders in Southern England, or should I say running away from all that is sensible in life! Work, paying the bills, living within ones means! Looking after the house, cutting the grass once a week, worrying about what the neighbours think! It tells of how we moved to the beauty and wildness of the North Cornish cliffs, of how I loved every minute of it, listening to the noise of the grass rustling in the wind, skylarks singing, the sea crashing onto the rocky beach below us. How I tried so hard to become an 'Honorary Local' and eventually had to accept defeat and return to normality! Whatever that is! The last chapter in this book tells of how the Twit agrees to move to a pub on the Isle of Wight with the alcoholic husband! How could anyone be so stupid!
