"Ouch" The sharp thorn had pierced her skin and any echo was stifled when her bloodied finger was flushed into her mouth. "It's his fault" muttered Aspin surveying the tiny scratch where a trickle of blood still continued to bubble. Every event seem to tap into her memories, heightening her senses - crystallizing every image as if heroin was circulating through her veins, enveloping every thought. The blood on her finger may have been clotting, but the small cut had Aspin guiding a path towards a much larger scar by comparison carved into her wrist. The scar had healed but the memory was as vivid as yesterday's early morning rain. Sixteen-year-old Aspin has been living a lie. Not her friends, her boyfriend or her father have any idea as to her struggles; so much so that she has often contemplated ending it all - but that would all change with the arrival of Farran.
