Waves of Inspiration

A modest young lad from the Heartland,
He had experiences both happy and sad;
Not a lot different from many,
In need of a change, not just a fad.

Unhappy with his youthful upbringing,
More satisfied when reaching his teens;
There was still so much that seemed lacking
For a young man of limited means.

Though from the simplest of backgrounds,
He was a bit of a thrill seeker too;
He was looking for a change of scenery,
But what kind of adventure would do?
