Beyond the Veil of Lace

A teenaged boy cautiously looks out of his bedroom window to watch a gruesome scene unfold; his neighbor's dog was knifed and left to die in the street. As he watches the new Sheriff pull up to the scene, he wonders if he can stay hiding or if he will have to answer any questions from the lawman. Meanwhile, it's only a matter of minutes for the Sheriff to realize the unexpected challenges ahead of him; he is not well-received by the neighbors, and his older Deputy is nothing less than insubordinate. Armed with years of experience and joined by his second Deputy�an impressionable young man, the Sheriff decides the best place to start his investigation is with the secretive boy, since his absence from the crowd did not go unnoticed. With bated breath, the boy's fears soon become realized as the Sheriff makes his way up the walkway and proceeds to knock on the front door downstairs.
