The Talking Giraffe

I told this story to my great nephew Thomas O'Brien, when he was seven years old. I wanted to explain to him what the power of love can do; and chose a baby giraffe as the chief character in my story. It tells of his adventures after being captured in Africa by wicked hunters and brought to a zoo in England, where he is befriended by the zookeeper's children. A bond of love develops between them, enabling the little animal to speak to them in the language of the animal kingdom.
