Apex Maths Word Problems CD-ROM 6 Extension

This CD-ROM provides a database of mathematical word problems designed to extend children aged 10-11 working at National Curriculum Level 5. The problems can be selected according to mathematical operation and topic, allowing teachers to create a photocopiable sheet of word problems tailored to the needs of individual pupils, or to generate sheets quickly for early finishers or homework. Apex Maths Word Problems can be used to teach or consolidate problem solving skills, for additional practice, or as an end of topic test. Answers are included for the teacher, together with useful advice on teaching and learning problem solving strategies. Tools for presenting the word problems via an interactive whiteboard are included in the software. The CD-ROMs complement the Apex Maths book series. The books focus mainly on number puzzles and mathematical investigations, whilst the CD-ROMs provide practice in choosing appropriate operations and calculation strategies for solving problems.
