Growing pressure on the world's available water resources has led to the need for increased efficiency and productivity of water-use and in the management, operation and maintenance of irrigation systems. Drawing on the author’s 30 years of experience in almost 30 countries, this book provides knowledge for the management of these systems, including traditional technical areas of system operation and maintenance. It also explores expanding managerial, institutional and organizational aspects related to the changing political, social and economic environment.
