What British teenager wouldn t jump at the chance of exploration in Australia with the hunt for hidden secrets? Our hero, Billy Carmody, is a bright lad awaiting his A-level results and hungry for more adventure. Once he can decide what he wants to do, of course! But Billy is just a bit different, for he has received an exciting and mysterious bequest from his old grandfather Ben in gold mining territory in the Queensland outback. Armed with knowledge and a head full of secrets and questions, he sets off with his mother and his best mate Sam to find out all he can. It is his second trip but he isn t the only one with plans and secrets and he soon realises that his travelling companions have their own hidden agendas too. In the company of our intrepid, energetic explorers we go on a four week tour of Australia, discovering through the eyes of young teenagers all that this fabulous land has to offer, from koalas and crocodiles to deserts and sun-kissed beaches, all with a backdrop of true Aussie warmth and hospitality. With so much to distract him, is it possible that Billy will really find what he is looking for and can he keep his fellow travellers happy?
