Dosing Handbook

Economical and flexible production processes to achieve high and reliable quality levels require expanding automation. A new dimension has been introduced by the quality assurance regulations according to ISO 9000.

Automatic dosing procedures have been introduced successfully in chemical, petrochemical, foodstuff, drug, paper and pulp industry, for supply and waste treatment systems, power generation, mineral processing, agriculture, environmental processes, machinery and instrumentation. The automation is also expanding into small-scale plants and laboratories.

The development of optimal dosing systems needs the combined efforts of process, mechanical, control and instrumentation engineers. A number of chemical, physical and technical parameters have to be considered in order to achieve the most economical investment.

The Dosing Handbook has been written by a group of dosing experts based on a partnership during the presentation of training seminars over many years. It reports on the state of the art and the trends in development of dosing procedures for liquids, bulk solids and gases.
