The Latin treatise edited here, preserved uniquely in a 9th-century manuscript now Autun, Bibl. munic. 184, long passed under the name of Bishop Germanus of Paris (d.576), but is evidently of a later date (possibly 7th or 8th century); it is a principal witness to the form of the Gallican mass. The edition is provided with a detailed apparatus of sources.
