Solar Energy in Building Renovation (Iea Solar Heating and Cooling (Shc Programme)

The first in this series of four brochures introduces the main strategies and considerations in solar design. The other three brochures cover major renovation concepts: glazed balconies and galleries; solar walls and transparent insulation; and solar collectors.;The brochures, as a set, provide an introduction to the possibilities and preconditions necessary for the use of each technology, principal considerations for their successful implementation and use, information on savings and costs, and some concluding advice and basic rules. Each brochure is illustrated with examples.;The work presented in the texts has been carried out under the auspices of Task 20 of the International Energy Agency Solar Heating and Cooling Programme.
