Eutrophication in Irish Waters

Proceedings of a seminar held on 12-13 March 1996. A total of sixteen speakers were invited to consider the following questions: What underpins the phenomenon of eutrophication? What is the current status of the different Irish water bodies? What impacts, especially practical problems related to resource uses, is eutrophication causing? What management options are available and worth trying? Fifteen of these papers are included under the headings of Nutrients, Water body status, Impacts, and Management to correspond with the four questiosn posed above. All the contributors brought with them their expertise and experience in the field, and consequently the contributions cover issues beyond the mere heading of the section. It is their contributions which give this volume its weight and authority.
