The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) was designed to establish a national program to protect the natural resources of the U.S. from the improper handling and stroage of hazardous wastes. Like many safety and health managers who at some point are made responsible for their company's hazardous and solid waste program, the author had little background or understanding of environmental disciplines. This book was born of his experiences in developing a company-wide program to ensure compliance with waste minimization requirements, labelling, transporatation and storage of hazardous and solid wastes. Written with the minimum of technical jargon, A Basic Guide to RCRA provides an excellent guide to understanding a complex subject that many non-experts must deal with on a daily basis.
