For this book the author has drawn from his experience in Mexico (he holds a bachelors degree from the Universidad de las Americas in Mexico City) and his three year residence in Madrid (from where he received his PH.D. in romance, philology) to differentiate between standard Spanish and the Spanish spoken in Mexico.
