Quest for Equity and Excellence: A Staff Development Program for K-12 Teachers

The ten staff development sessions along with follow-up activities have been designed specifically to help educators achieve that elusive goal of having all students perform at levels commensurate with their potential. The crowning achievement of this effort arises from exposing teachers, who may be struggling unsuccessfully to improve learning outcomes for under achieving students, to sound educational thought, new teaching paradigms, promising practices, and other interventions being utilized by some of the profession's best practitioners. Because this program helps teachers engage in more productive educational exchanges with youth, it complements any existing staff development initiatives that may be underway.
