Health, Environment and Sustainable Development, Vol. 2 (Copper 2003)

Copper 2003-Cobre 2003 fifth in a series of international conferences devoted to the economics, the mineral processing, the extractive metallurgy, the environment and the applications of copper. The 1987 and 1995 conferences were hosted by Chile, whereas the 1991 and 1999 conferences were held, respectively, in Ottawa, Canada and Phoenix, USA.

The 49 papers presented in Volume II address issues about the copper industry and sustainable development, clean production methods for the industry, and aspects relating to risk assessment of copper in health and the environment. The 24 papers presented on the latter theme are of high regulatory interest, since most of these papers address questions of direct interest to the voluntary risk assessment being currently conducted by the European copper industry.
