Dürer's Fame

Dürer's Fame presents a selection of outstanding Albrecht Dürer impressions from the National Galleries of Scotland. Examining different aspects of fame, it also features contemporary and later copies, imitations and forgeries, as well as portraits of Dürer and works that reflect his art. In addition to famous Italian and Netherlandish examples it includes works by British artists such as John Runciman and William Bell Scott, whose response to Dürer's art is less well known. This richly illustrated publication highlights an important part of the National Galleries of Scotland's collection and comprises a checklist of the objects displayed.
