The Levelling Dust

At the end of the Second World War, the sometimes benign, sometimes malign, levelling dust of fate, dictates the course that the lives of two brothers will take after they are separated by a devastating family tragedy. Haunted by guilt, Douglas Bowen recklessly risks his life during the Korean War, falls in love with the exotic, but treacherous Linda Yeung in Hong Kong and; after being co-erced into joining a sinister section of MI6, known as 'Gordon's Ghosts', battles to save an army sergeant from being assassinated in the Aden Protectorate. Douglas's brother, the traumatised and quixotic young writer, Robert Bowen, fights his own small wars as he attempts to win the love of the beautiful and talented, Barbara Meadows, overcome a ship's bully and become a successful novelist. Fate ensures Robert learns that his brother is responsible for the death of their parents; but when he tracks him down in order to exact his revenge, they are thrown together on Australia's desolate Nullarbor Plains and obliged to join forces in order to survive the elements and defeat a ruthless enemy.
