Ever since the dawn of literature, there have been tales and stories of the great lovers who have braved tyranny, danger and deprivation in the name of true love. Often heart-breaking, always heroic, theirs have been accounts of the very heights of human nobility and the awesome sacrifices they would make for the sake of their true desires. Lucky Bastards...... Finding and winning the love of your life may be one of the hardest things anyone has to face. But it's a piece of piss next to the bitch of a job that getting rid of her again can be. Such is the experience of Tom Wilton, a harassed husband and mid-ranking civil servant in central Scotland. Can he find a boyfriend for his wife so that she'll leave him of her own accord ? Can he do so while also holding down a job which seems to require him to start the next space shuttle programme on a golf course in Perthshire ? And why is it that he seems consistently dogged by disaster ? The wife may be one thing but he could do without accidentally becoming an eighties car-jacker, avoiding the explosive garden furniture, or setting up the first pornographic website for a local Church. St. George only had to slay the dragon. At least he didn't need to wake up next to her every morning...
