Despite similarities in technology and organization and the rapid development of transnationalism, globalization nonetheless has its limits. At a time of radical economic and technological change, Zeng goes inside the newsrooms to analyze their news products and bulletins at first hand in order fully to understand the limits and opportunities for global journalism in today's rapidly changing world.
This project is the only study so far to compare broadcast journalists and their working practices in the UK and China. It will contribute to the Anglophone knowledge of Chinese television journalists and news production as well as to Chinese knowledge of British journalists and news production. It will also contribute to the field of comparative journalism and endeavors to understand global journalism in different national and cultural settings.
