Hidden Treasures in Church's Breviary

Throughout his life in the priesthood, the author was always fascinated by the passages from the works of the Church Fathers and a few saints which are contained in the Church s Breviary. Over the years, he accumulated nearly 450 excerpts from these passages and makes them available to a wider readership in this book. They are grouped under 91 themes and linked with each other through many cross-references. Brief life histories of the 114 authors quoted in the book allow the reader to place them into their historical context, and the index at the end of the book helps to locate quickly a required theme. It is hoped Hidden Treasures will provide spiritual nourishment not only to clergy, but to the entire People of God. The book s content ought to appeal to Christians of all persuasions as most of the excerpts predate the Reformation of 500 years ago.
