Spa: The Sensuous Experience provides a timely exploration of 50 of the very best spas, from more recent examples to traditional destinations that have become icons in the spa world. It also takes an authoritative look at the three basic elements of each property: site, design and treatments. New York-based architect and professor, Robert D. Henry, a recognised authority in the field of spa design both in the United States and internationally, provides a comprehensive foreword. Author, spa aficionado and public relations professional, Julie D. Taylor, writes incisively on each of the selected projects, drawing on her extensive hirst-hand experience of spas and treatments throughout the United States. New York Times reporter, Julie V Iovine, writes the introduction. This stunning book is divided into comprehensive chapters dedicated to individual spa categories, each preceded by text written by a spa specialist or prominent personality.
