Runa Islam

Runa Islam has gained an international reputation for her ongoing investigations into experimental and expanded cinematic techniques, working with both 16 mm and 35 mm film. Since the late 1990s, the British artist has explored the history and aesthetics of cinema, as well as the themes of time and duration, illusion and the nature of seeing. This monograph, composed of two original essays and numerous color plates, documents the artist's film installations from the past 7 years, including Magical Consciousness (2010), conceived especially for the occasion.
