Equine Management and Donkey Training

This book is a collection of information covered in videotapes #8 through #10 of the videotape series, Training Mules and Donkeys: A Logical Approach to Longears. This book is and the companion videotapes are designed to help you understand donkeys and learn how to handle and train them effectively. The book is divided into three parts, each of which corresponds to one of the three videotapes in the series: 8) Management, Fitting and Grooming (housing, nutrition, braiding, bathing, feeding, health and care, showmanship), 9) Keys to Training the Donkey - Introduction to the Donkey and Basic Training (differences between the donkey and mule, imprinting for foal and adult, tying and leading, obstacle course, trailer loading, showmanship, measuring for athletic potential, and the donkey jack); and 10) Keys to Training the Donkey - Saddle Training and Jumping (basics in the roundpen, trotting, mounting, patterns and obstacles at the walk and trot, canter, advanced training, lateral training, lengthening the stride, and massage for your athlete).
