The Smart Way Reading and Spelling program was the first to embrace all of the points listed by the National Reading Panel's report to Congress on the most effective method of teaching students how to read.

Every lesson takes the parent and child through a step-by step systematic and explicit phonics-based reading lesson. Each new lesson builds on the previous lesson in a very logical and orderly fashion. Students read, write, look up words in the dictionary and become acquainted with comprehension strategies that consult their understanding.

About us:

The Smart Way Reading and Spelling program was developed by two Moms in 2000. They were alarmed at the growing illiteracy rate in America and the lack of products that really work. With the help of their husbands they decided to jump into the problem to find a solution.

When the program was put to work on children from various backgrounds and environments around the country and significant increases between their pre-test and post-test scores came in, the slogan, "No Games, No Gimmicks, Just Results!" was born.

The Smart Way Reading and Spelling program is a "back-to basics" approach to teaching reading. We don't use silly games, or think reading is "play" time. We are serious about fixing the problem of illiteracy in America and we have developed a highly effective and easy-to-use program to accomplish this.
