I Count My Blessings:Every Day is a Gift, a Blessing, a Connection

The thought of going to Africa was planted in Eunice Simonson s head at a very young age. When she met David Simonson at Concordia College and he developed the same dream, they were headed for Tanganyika (now Tanzania) and the Maasai people. She went to nursing school and he went to the seminary. They married and went to the Maasai. For nearly 50 years they preached the Gospel, healed the sick, and raised a family of five children. They barnstormed back and forth across the United States raising money to build more than 3000 schools for Tanzanian children. They initiated efforts to build a hospital and started a girls school.

And Eunice Simonson met every challenge head-on, without fear, counting every day as a blessing. This is her story, her account of the blessings of 80 years. They were years in which she made connections to many people and places, each of which holds a value in her heart.
