Glory: The Holiness of God and Man

Holiness is a subject that seems to confuse a lot of people; they tend to equate it with righteousness. Actually we can't truly understand what holiness is until we first come to grips with the holiness of God. Made to enjoy God alone, man is specially designed to see and appreciate the unique nature of God. Being holy means being God-centered. As we draw close to God, we will find in him the source of all of our joy and blessing. "For from him and through him and to him are all things." The culmination of our holiness will come when we see God from the position of our union with Christ. Then we will know God as Jesus knows him -- the highest and most intimate level of the knowledge of God that anyone will ever have. That fellowship will be the "glory" that Jesus prayed for concerning our eternity with God. "I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one."
