Dahlov Ipcar Full Circle 2014 Calendar

Since 1988, Dahlov Ipcar has painted fifteen distinctive paintings in her series of Circle Paintings. In the 1970s, the artist developed a fascination with kaleidoscopic images or rather, with the images seen through a teleidoscope (like a kaleidoscope, but with a clear lens), which are based on whatever the viewer focuses on, rather than being dependent on bits of glass or objects inside the instrument. In Ipcar's paintings, however, the images do not repeat themselves, and the results are complex and intriguing. In each painting, circles within circles depict variations on the main theme, often of animals or the natural world, and the outer corners of the square canvas depict a supplementary aspect. This calendar features all 15 of these extraordinary paintings.
