June of 1967 started as just another uneventful Ohio summer for young Ed Edelhagen, editor-publisher of The Austerlitz Bugle-Telegraph. But an eight-inch rainstorm washed through Hillcrest County and exposed a cascade of local scandals involving the town s most prominent family his own. Ed, the son of an honored World War II Army veteran and grandson of a highly decorated World War I Marine gunnery sergeant, is fueled by a dogged determination to face past family secrets.
