Please purchase books from CREATESPACE.COM. Extra 10% discount. Code: S7WWWBNR Cybercrimes are criminal activities committed over the Internet using computers and other technologies. Criminal behavior is very adaptive to new technologies and this is the reason why as the Internet and new technological advances continue to progress and pervade our lives, so will these negative cyberactivities endure and escalate. This has been compounded by the freelance nature of the Internet which continues to tolerate the growth of cybercrimes due to general lack of international legislation that regulates criminal defense apparatus in contradiction of cybercrimes. The current problem we face is that there are not enough cyberexperts and cyberdefenders to counter some of the crimes that are committed such as identity theft, accessing email directories, contacts, analyzing big data, and other personal data via fake websites that have malicious viruses, spam emails, or phone calls. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills are prerequisite to these jobs. The urgent proposition is to introduce these topics to students at K-12 levels so as to pique their interest into studying those subject areas leading to research, innovation, and technology. This is why teaching cybercrime at K-12 levels is needed now more than ever. Some schools like Zapphire School of Informatics and Technology (http://www.zapphireinformatics.org) have a curriculum in place to do just that. This book will discuss cybercrime in the digital age, thwarting cybercrime, advantages of the Internet, and safety tips for Internet users. Students in K-12 should find the book informative and engaging. Available as a printed copy and ebook.
