Common Core English Language Arts Practice Assessment - 4th Grade

The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) were designed to provide clear and specific requirements of what a student should know and be able to do at any given grade level. As of 2014, forty-five states have adopted the Common Core State Standards, with full implementation for all grades varying from state to state. All of these states administer standardized achievement exams in their public schools to assess a student's proficiency in English Language Arts (ELA) or math at his or her grade level. The objective of the Bright KidsTM Common Core ELA practice assessments is to identify a student's strengths and weaknesses when it comes to understanding the ELA Common Core standards for his or her grade. This practice assessment contains 11 reading passages with 37 multiple-choice questions, 8 short-response questions, and 2 extended-response questions. The answer keys in the back of this book list the Common Core codes for every question on this practice assessment so that a student can help identify the types of questions he or she had trouble answering correctly. Understanding the Common Core standards for his or her grade will help a student to perform to the best of his or her ability on any standardized state achievement test.
