Description
The first Albanian school for girls in Kortcha, Albania, was founded by Gerasim and Sevasti Qiriazi. It was a Christian school, each day begun with prayer and Bible reading. Among the many subjects, the girls studied the Bible and Christian doctrine. The school property was also used for the services of the first Evangelical church in Albania. This book is the reprinting of a text book used in the school and church, a compilation of six Gospel brochures entitled "The Love of God," "The Light of the World," "Faith," "What is Sin?", "The Fruit of Sin" and "The Healing of Sin." Recently transcribed into modern Albanian, this new work presents a fascinating study into the Albanian language as spoken in 1896, before the famous Alphabet Congress in Monastir in 1908, and before Albania's declaration of independence in 1912. It also provides insight into the theology being taught by the Qiriazis in the girls school and in the church.
