The Role of NGOs in the Improvement of Livelihood in Nepal: An Analytical Study

The collective role among the various institutional actors has been felt necessary to establish improved governance system which is important for improving livelihoods of the people. Due to the 'failures' none of the sectors could be sole alternatives in the best management of public goods. Civil Society Organization (CSO) like Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) has therefore been proving their woth as a significant Third Sector to compliment and supplement the roles played by the public and private sectors. Considering NGOs? increased role, this book aims at understanding NGOs? increased role to work as development partner. Some of the major themes that discusses in this book are poverty situation of Nepal, NGOs? roles for improving livelihoods, and their strengths and weakness in performing such roles. This book at its best tries to explore the increasing roles of NGOs/NPOs and their importance in Nepal.
