Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration: The challenge of socio-economic Reintegration of ex-combatants after war and the role of the International Financial Institutions (IFIs)

The overarching focus of this book is the link between the micro-strategies of socio-economic Reintegration and the wider macro-strategies of economic reconstruction and rehabilitation. It will examine the nature and characteristics of a gap or even contradictions between these sets of strategies and discuss the engagement of the International Financial Institutions (World Bank / International Monetary Fund) to assess whether their activities and policies widen or narrow that gap.
