ENL, ESL, EFL,EIL or ELF?: On the Idea of Teaching the Lingua Franca Core at Dutch Secondary Schools

ELF, English as a Lingua Franca, is a simplified form of English which does not include complex grammar or pronunciation. The Lingua France Core should be sufficient for students to be able to communicate in English all over the world. This thesis researches whether or not it would be a good idea to teach this Lingua Franca Core at Dutch secondary schools, instead of an existing variety of English.
