Assessment of Potentials for Eco-tourism: Northern Thane District, Maharashtra

This book entitled “ASSESSMENT OF POTENTIALS FOR ECO-TOURISM" is the project work carried out under the University Grant Commission (UGC). The book mainly deals with developmental processes of economically deprived regions through the tourism activities. In the identifying the potentials of tourism in such regions, along with traditional methods, remote sensing and GIS tools, can be effectively use. In this book various thematic maps of the study area, prepared in remote sensing and GIS environment are shown. These information and maps are highly useful for further regional planning, administration, tourism development as well as for researchers. The present work mainly deals with the development of inaccessible and remote regions through Eco-tourism. The diversity in the physical environment that exists in such region itself can be a resource.
