Description
Plant Tissue Culture is the technique of growing cells, tissues and organs of plant in an artificial prepared nutrient medium static or liquid under aseptic conditions. The transgenic plant provides long protection against the target pests. Wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) is one of the plant lectin which is used to give insect resistance which is present on whole surface of wheat seedlings and on root tips of adult plants. Several techniques can introduce genes into plant cells. It includes calcium chloride treatment, electroporation, microinjection, biolistics, Agrobacterium mediated transformation etc. The most successful method involves the pathogenic bacterium Agrobacterium tumefaciens which has involves the pathogenic bacterium Agrobacterium tumefaciens which has the innate ability to transfer DNA to plant cells. Main benefits of micro propagation are rapid multiplication of superior clones and maintenance of uniformity, multiplication of disease free plants and Multiplication of sexually derived sterile hybrid. This research work mainly focuses for the researchers in the field of Agricultural Sciences.
