Pre-school Education and Early intervention in Zambia: Research Study

The book describes a research study that was done in the three towns of Zambia: Livingstone, Lusaka and Kitwe whose main aim was to show the relationship between preschool education and early intervention in Zambia. It describes the importance of the early years, the development of preschool education in Zambia, and early intervention. The main tools used in the study were observation, semi structured interviews and questionnaires. Each of these is described. The problems of implementing effective early programmes in preschools are many and range from inadequate funding;lack of resources; lack of trained man power to lack of coordinated efforts with other professionals. The assessment tools and skills to use them is also lacking.
