Implant Esthetic Surgery: Multifaceted Aspects of Implant Esthetics

Today, with the high survival and success rates of implant therapy, the focus has shifted toward creating an esthetic restoration that is indistinguishable from natural teeth and is stable over time. Construction of an esthetically pleasing restoration involves not only harmonizing the size, shape, position, and colour of each prosthetic tooth with the adjacent teeth but also establishing peri-implant soft tissue compatibility with the surrounding gingiva and mucosa is also essential. This is particularly important in the anterior maxilla, also known as the “esthetic zone” of the oral environment.
