Angkor

Angkor, the region north of the Great Lake in Cambodia, witnessed a period of splendid architectural achievement between the 9th - 15th centuries. Temples and pools were constructed to reflect the cosmological order of religious thought in the Khmer empire and were decorated with sculptures of dancers, guardsmen, gods, giants, rulers, courtiers and warriors.
