Knowledge Management Framework for System Development Projects: Integrated Knowledge Management Framework for Knowledge Enablement of Information Systems Development (ISD) Projects

Information Systems Development (ISD) projects are knowledge-intensive and socio-technical undertakings that need a comprehensive knowledge management (KM) approach to address the underlying KM issues. This book presents an Enterprise Knowledge Domain Model (EKDM) and an Integrated Knowledge Management Framework (IKMF) using a comprehensive KM approach tightly integrating business and knowledge domain components. Historical data from several ISD projects of an S&P 100 multi-domain global business enterprise has been studied to identify problematic knowledge domains and make knowledge enablement recommendations. This book provides a comprehensive reference model for knowledge enablement of ISD projects for identifying and addressing knowledge management related issues of actual projects as well as a framework for conducting further research in order to improve the success rate of ISD project execution.
