DESIGN OF A STANDARD TEMPLATE TO ASSESS CONFORMITY OF ISO 9001:2008: Verifying the extent to which a company satisfies the requirements of ISO 9001:2008

In the present era of market turbulence and globalisation, especially the global financial crisis, ISO 9001 offers organisations to grow beyond customer expectation and maintain the organisation competitive in the business environment. This project has emphasised on the use of a standard template to verify the extent to which an organisation satisfies the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 standard. The template designed is simple, intuitive and free from excessive paperwork, making it easy to conduct audits and workout the non conformities. Although it is simple and streamlined, it covers fully the ISO 9001:2008 standard. The template consists of close ended questions. The statements found questions are designed in such a way like having a consultant anticipating the non conformance and helping in real times as the user reply along each and every questions. This template can be used to conduct both internal and external audits. In addition to the above, the use of the template will serve to: (i) Enhance customer confidence in the client quality management system (ii) Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of audits/assessments (iii) Improve objectivity of assessments/audits
