Human Rights and Dalit Movement in Karnataka

When India is on the verge of becoming a global super power, it can’t afford gross human rights violations of its own citizens, when inclusive growth and empowerment are its electoral planks. In this context, this book probes the efficacy and relevance of human rights movement in preserving and promoting the human rights of Dalits in India in general and Karnataka state in particular. This book attempts to probe the origin, history and development of human rights movement in India in general and Karnataka in particular. It also critically evaluates the promotion, implementation and violations of human rights in Karnataka and provides the remedial suggestions for the effective implementation of Human rights in Karnataka.
