Theory of language teaching. Language didactics: English language teaching methodology

The book addresses the issues of language didactics relevant to teaching English as a foreign language. It deals with the historical sketch of ELT methodology, teaching communicative competence and skills, teaching culture in the context of English language lessons, using technology and teaching by distance, material design and other areas. The structure of the book provides for theoretical input on the issues under study, discussion questions and hands-on tasks. The material is designed to develop critical thinking in readers, and to practise socialconstructivist approach to knowledge while working with this book.
