Recently, a strong correlation has been felt between the progressing abilities of information technology and the needs of organizations to link all their activities into a working system. Experts coming from the academic as well as the industrial environment, daily confronting this problem at their work and their research, have condensed their experiences and reflections into the current volume. Among them, there are experts from different countries, with different social systems and with different levels of economic development. The objectives of the current publication are fourfold: to examine the link between the work process organization and information system development, concerning strategy, human factors and technology; to analyze the impact of information technology and organization structure; to view research results with respect to their practical application; and to provide up-to-date information about more recent developments.
