Description
The small town of Cahersiveen, located on the shores of Dingle Bay, is the home of the Kerry Orchestra, wich was founded in 1990 by Adolf F. Packeiser. Originally established as a youth orchestra, it quickly grew into a well known amateur orchestra and was invited to perform in France and Gemany. The Kerry Orchestra is made up of residents of Cahersiveen as well as the occasional local and international visitor. The dances and songs collected in this book are taken directly from the repertoire of the orchestra, harmonised by A.F. Packeiser, and they can to be heard in the pubs of Cahersiveen and all over Ireland almost every evening. The degree of difficulty of the dance or the accompaniment ranges from low, as in “Shoe the donkey†or “Mo Ghile Mear†to rather high, as in the whirling dances, especially the slides. There are did not add any instruction in regard to performance, because I am convinced that every dance speaks for itself. Each tune has two sepereate lead lines and added chord symbols. You can play this tunes with all C-instruments like flute, violin, guitar, accordeon and many others. 68 pages - 60 tunes.
