This present work contains an up-to-date comprehensive study of the numerous musical cultures of Siberia. The author introduces his definitions of various acoustic practices of folklore: archaic, traditional, professional, and innovative. All of these practices took shape sequentially, so that their coexistence in contemporary culture presents an enigma for the researcher.
